“100% pass accuracy, 100% dribbles completed. I just can’t stop clapping for him after the masterclass display from him Today”- Arsenal icon Thierry Henry can’t stop applauding £48M Arsenal star following a wonderful performance against Burnley that made Arsenal play their best game of the season so far
Arsenal once again enjoyed another superb day at the office as they made it 11 unanswered goals from their last two Premier League games.
On Saturday, the Gunners followed up their 6-0 hammering of West Ham with a 5-0 triumph at Burnley.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard opened the scoring in the fourth minute, firing into the bottom-right corner from outside the box.
Bukayo Saka then made it 2-0 from the penalty spot late on in the first half after Leandro Trossard was brought down in the box.
Saka added a third early on in the second half, cutting inside a Burnley defender onto his left foot and hammering the ball into the roof of the net.
Trossard and Kai Havertz rounded off the scoring midway through the second half to keep Arsenal hot on the heels of Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Bukayo Saka ‘slick as you like’ as Arsenal thrash Burnley
Saka was one of the standout players for Arsenal on the day. It’s no mean feat considering how well every Gunners man played, but also no surprise because Saka is just that good.
When the £195,000-a-week man (Spotrac) grabbed his second, BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton couldn’t help but sing his praises on Radio 5 Live.
“Game, set, match,” said Sutton, via the BBC Sport website. “They were so dominant in the first half.
“Slick as you like, Saka manoeuvres the ball onto his right foot and gives James Trafford absolutely no chance.”
Saka’s Premier League tally this season now reads 24 appearances, 12 goals and eight assists. Overall, he has 15 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this term.
Ian Wright certainly seems to think this sort of form makes Saka worthy of being called ‘world class’. Others may yet need to be convinced, but he’s certainly doing his best to do so.
