32-goal Arsenal sensation visits Man Utd training ground to discuss potential move – report

Arsenal youth striker Chido Obi-Martin visited the Carrington training base earlier this week to discuss a potential summer move to Manchester United, according to Academy Scoop.

The Academy Scoop is a reputable source for youth football transfer news and analysis, with specific coverage and focus on Man United’s academy.

They have claimed on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that Obi-Martin could be set for a move to the Old Trafford club in the coming weeks despite constructive talks with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta

The 16-year-old is also on the radar of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and the Gunners have offered him an improved contract to keep him at the North London club.

However, he has yet to agree to scholarship terms with Arsenal and is considering a move to Man United from the look of things.

Obi-Martin ended last term with 32 goals in 19 games for the Gunners under-18s and has notched 11 goals in 15 appearances for the Denmark under-17s, and the Red Devils are now looking to lure him away.

The goalscoring teenage sensation wants a guaranteed pathway to first-team football and is not convinced it is available at Arsenal.

Obi-Martin cannot sign a professional deal in England until his 17th birthday in November under the Football Association’s rules, but professional deals can be signed in Germany at 16.

A move to Man United will see him continue on schoolboy terms, and Arsenal will be due compensation if that happens.

Whether the promise of a quicker pathway to first-team football is guaranteed at the Old Trafford club remains to be seen, but the Gunners kid has seen manager Erik ten Hag give teenage sensations Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo opportunities in recent seasons, which could tempt him into agreeing to a move.
