4-3-3: Manchester United predicted XI vs Liverpool, Ten Hag drops £300k-a-week star

Manchester United face Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

The summer transfer window is done and dusted and Manchester United will think that they are in a far better position than two months ago.

But now all that business is done, Erik ten Hag’s attention will be firmly on Liverpool and getting one over on Arne Slot this Sunday.

So with that game in mind, here is our predicted XI for the game at Old Trafford

How Manchester United could line-up vs Liverpool
So as we depart the summer transfer window, the season will really kick up a notch and therefore it is only right this comes with England’s biggest fixture.

Ten Hag has new injury issues to contend with as well with Mason Mount now missing for several weeks once again. Besides Mount, it will be a squad which is the same as last week, with no returns yet.

Ugarte will also miss out due to United not managing to get him registered in time on Friday. Here is our predicted line-up for the game against Liverpool.

Starting in goal, it will be Andre Onana who starts and he will be hoping this outing sees him as impressive as the last time Liverpool came to Old Trafford.

Noussair Mazraoui

A third consecutive start is in store for Noussair Mazraoui here and he has already been pretty impressive through his opening two displays, looking great value at the moment.

Matthijs de Ligt

For Matthijs de Ligt, this could be his first start for Manchester United with Harry Maguire making way for him. Maguire has proven himself and deserves credit, but De Ligt is an upgrade in almost every way.

Lisandro Martinez

Partnering De Ligt will be Lisandro Martinez as he continues to prove himself to be a pivotal figure in Ten Hag’s team at United.

Diogo Dalot

On the left, Diogo Dalot continues to fill in due to the ongoing absence of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Probably the one position United missed out on strengthening this summer.

Casemiro

In midfield, Ugarte not being registered or match fit means Casemiro starts almost by default – but he will need to be on top form to make the midfield work.

Kobbie Mainoo

Alongside Casemiro will be Kobbie Mainoo after his different performance against Brighton. Hopefully, he is allowed to play further forward here in preparation for Ugarte.

Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo opened his account for the season last weekend against Brighton, and we expect him to start once more against Liverpool – in the fixture, he began his ascension in last season.

Bruno Fernandes

In the number 10 spot, it will be United’s No.8, Bruno Fernandes who starts. It has not been a great start to the season for the captain, but he will be desperate to now kick on and beat Liverpool.

Alejandro Garnacho

After agonisingly having his goal rejected last weekend by VAR, we expect Alejandro Garnacho to be thrust into the starting line-up this weekend to continue his impressive impact this season.

Joshua Zirkzee

Finally, Joshua Zirkzee looks in line to be handed his first start of the season after Mount’s injury. This will see a system change which is long overdue with United finally playing with a striker.
