Player have finally agreed to join – Man Utd prepared to agree £10.4million a year deal for their first summer signing – Favorites

Manchester United are serious about reinforcing their goalkeeping department and the name of Jordan Pickford is in the lime light.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Star, the Red Devils are ready to submit a bid worth £45million to sign the England international from Everton.

Pickford earns around £100,000 a week and Man Utd are prepared to double the wages and offer him a deal worth £200,000 a week (£10.4million a year)

The renowned news source claim that north London club, Tottenham, are also interested in the Toffees star but United are favorites because they can offer Champions League football next season.

If the deal is completed, the 20-time English champions may offload highest earner, David De Gea, in the summer.

In 237 appearances for Everton thus far, the 29-year-old has let in 346 goals and kept just 62 clean sheets. The record is terrible but it will be fair to say that overall, the Merseysiders have been a very poor side in recent years.

In the last two campaigns, they celebrated hard in the final days only because they were able to survive relegation

On the other hand, Pickford has been a top performer for the senior international side. He helped England reach the semi finals of the World Cup in 2018 and the final of European Championships in 2021.

In 53 appearances for the Three Lions thus far, he has conceded 39 goals and kept 26 clean sheets, most recently in the 4-0 victory against Malta on Friday.

Have your say – Is Jordan Pickford good enough to replace De Gea at Old Trafford?
