Not Rashford: Tottenham now in talks over signing £200,000-a-week Manchester United player
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks over signing Harry Maguire from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
According to LondonWorld, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Harry Maguire from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that “there have been talks going” for the England international, but he “will not come cheap given his wages”.
Maguire earns £200,000 per week in wages (SalarySport) at United.
Could Tottenham Hotspur sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United?
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, if they are willing to match his current salary.
We do not think that the England international will leave the Red Devils if he has to take a pay-cut.
That Spurs are in talks indicate that they want to sign Maguire.
Even though Tottenham will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season, Maguire will be fully aware that the North London club regularly challenge for the Premier League top four.
The chance to move to Tottenham and play regular first-team football could be very tempting to Maguire.
The 30-year-old made eight starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Erik ten Hag’s side last season.
Maguire also made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Carabao Cup, three starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League, and three starts and one substitute appearance in the FA Cup for United last season.
