Manchester Utd will approach £69m fee for signing, believes club – Report
Manchester United are still not close to signing any striker despite the fact that they need to reinforce the No. 9 position on a priority basis.
The Red Devils have been linked with several top quality forwards and once again, the name of Goncalo Ramos is in the focus.
According to Correio da Manha, the proposals that have reached the offices of Benfica thus far are well below the asking fee demanded by the club.
The Portuguese news source have mentioned the Eagles received an offer worth 60 million euros for Ramos, 50 million fixed fee and 10 million in add-ons.
However, the bid was immediately rejected by Rui Costa, who is looking to get 80 million euros (£69m) from the sale of the star striker.
CM Jornal have not named the club that moved in with an offer. It is reported Benfica believe suitors like Man Utd will approach the £69m fee to sign the Seleccao goal scorer.
If the Liga Nos champions receive a bid of around £69m then they may not resist the sale of Ramos.
The 22-year-old center forward netted 27 goals in all competitions, 19 in the Primeira Liga winning campaign
Man Utd have not replaced Cristiano Ronaldo as yet. They tried Weghorst in the second half of the last season but the Dutchman proved to be a flop.
On the other hand, Anthony Martial should be sold after multiple average campaigns at Old Trafford.
