100% DONE DEAL! Reliable Skysport journalist confirms Man United have completed the signing of extremely ‘brilliant player’ and his unveiling will come up this week- Congratulations Man Utd fans
Man United have apparently agreed personal terms with Sofyan Amrabat.
Manchester United are closing in on Mason Mount as their first signing of the summer, with Erik ten Hag looking to bolster his midfield.
I guess we just all assumed that Mount would be the only midfielder signed during this window, particularly given the fact that there’s only limited funds at Ten Hag’s disposal, with many positions that need filling.
Well, that may not be the case. The Sun quote Italian media outlet, Violanews, claiming that United and Sofyan Amrabat have been in talks over a possible contract.
According to said report, United have ‘agreed personal terms’ with the 26-year-old midfielder, though they still need to come to an agreement with his current club, AFC Fiorentina.
Amrabat enjoyed an excellent season with the Serie A club, while also looking mightily impressive for Morocco during the World Cup. Hence, the big sides are now starting to show an interest in signing him.
United looked at Amrabat in the January transfer window, but decided against a move at that time. Now, a summer move seems to be a genuine possibility.
There’s no doubt that Amrabat would be a top tier addition for any club in world football. If the price is right, I’d be all for getting this deal done, though you do have to be wary about spending all the funds in one position.
United still need a striker, a goalkeeper and potentially a centre-half. There’d be hardly any money left, with three positions to fill. It doesn’t feel like the most ideal scenario.
Right now, I’d love to see United prioritise other areas first. If Amrabat is still available next summer, move for him then…
