HERE WE GO Muhammed Kudus to Arsenal is a Done deal already as player reject Real Madrid Mega money offer today to join Arsenal
Real Madrid have built up quite the reputation in recent years when it comes to signing some of the best young talents from around the globe. They have continued to pursue that strategy this summer as well, bringing in Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and Arda Guler from Fenerbahce. Both of them are believed to have impressed the coaching team in training since arriving.
There are a number of other highly-rated young players that Real Madrid have been linked with in recent times. One name that falls under that category is that of Mohammed Kudus.
Kudus has been a standout performer for Ajax and impressed at the World Cup as well. Thus, it is not hard to see why Real Madrid were rumoured to hold an interest in the player. But it looks like multiple other clubs are chasing his signature this summer. Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion, all seem to be in the running.
As reported by Caught Offside, Ben Jacobs said in the latest edition of his exclusive CaughtOffside column on the Daily Briefing
“Chelsea have registered their interest in Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus and are even close to agreeing personal terms. But no offer has been placed yet.
“Kudus is one of a number of attacking midfield options, including Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga. He is appreciated because he can play centrally or out wide and scored 18 goals and got seven assists in all competitions last season.
“Kudus is under contract at Ajax until 2025 and is keen to leave. He has already rejected a one-year extension back in April.
“The Arsenal interest is genuine as well, although they won’t move prior to outgoings. They made contact a couple of weeks ago. Brighton are also in the race. Kudus is going to cost about £40m.
“I think if Chelsea sell Conor Gallagher they will move quickly for an attack-minded midfielder. West Ham have seen a bid rejected for Gallagher for around £40m. He has got plenty of minutes in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino, but Chelsea will sell if the price is right.”
Arsenal interested in signing £40m Real Madrid target
Thus, it appears that Chelsea are leading the race to sign Kudus this summer. But the likes of Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion in the race to sign him as well.
Kudus is coming off the best campaign of his career till now and the interest is signature from top clubs across Europe should not come as a surprise. It appears that it will take a transfer fee around £40 million to sign him from Ajax.
Kudus is capable of playing in midfield, on the wing or even as a centre-forward. Thus, a player of his versatility could have been a great addition to a team like Real Madrid, who lack depth. But a move seems unlikely at this point of time.
