‘He is TOO WEAK to be in our squad’: TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour said Arsenal should sell this 27yr old Star if they really want to challenge for League next season if NOT they will still bottle it

TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour has said that Arsenal central defender Rob Holding needs to leave the Gunners.

The former Arsenal star has said on talkSPORT (6:11am, July 28, 2023) that Rob Holding has to move on.

Parlour believes that Arsenal should sell the 27-year-old English central defender in the summer transfer window if they get £10 million for him.

Holding has been linked with moves away from Arsenal this summer.

The Express reported last month that Besiktas are interested in signing Holding.

There has been interest from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic as well in the Englishman.

Holding has been on the books of Arsenal since 2016.

The defender is under contract at the Gunners until the summer of 2024, with the North London club holding the option to extend it by another year.

The 27-year-old made six starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal last season.

The defender scored one goal in those games.

Holding also made six starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League for Arsenal last season.

The Englishman scored one goal in those matches.

Parlour said: “As much as I love Rob Holding, he probably has to move on, which he probably will. Rob Holding, you would probably get £10 million.”

Rob Holding should leave Arsenal

In our opinion, Rob Holding should seriously consider leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

We do not see any point in the defender staying at Arsenal.

After all, the 27-year-old is not going to get much playing time next season even with the Gunners playing in the UEFA Champions League.

Gabriel and William Saliba are the two main centre-backs at Arsenal.

Ben White is also an option for the Gunners to play at centre-back even though the former Leeds United loanee played as a right-back last season.

Jurrien Timber, who joined Arsenal this summer, can play at right-back and at centre-back.
