JUST IN: Agent in LONDON COLNEY to have one on one discussion with Edu, Medical schedule to hold later on today as Arsenal keen to seal the Brazilian deal – Here we go

Arsenal have no intention of selling defender Gabriel Magalhaes this summer amid interest from more than one club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are refusing to even put a price tag on Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Real Madrid are keen on the 25-year-old as they look to bring in cover for the injured Eder Militao. However, it does not appear that the Gunners are willing to do business during this transfer window.

Speaking about Gabriel on Twitter, Romano said: “Understand Arsenal have no intention to sell Gabriel Magalhães despite Al-Ittihad interest.

“Arsenal not even intentioned to indicate a price tag for Brazilian centre back at this stage. He’s expected to stay.”
Gabriel is yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season but did come on in their 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Monday, helping his side to see out the game and claim all three points.

He joined the north London club from Lille back in 2020, arriving in a deal worth around £23m.

Arsenal should keep hold of Gabriel Magalhaes
While Mikel Arteta has gone with a central defensive partnership of William Saliba and Ben White for Arsenal’s first two top-flight matches this term, the Gunners should not be too quick to get rid of Gabriel.

In the last campaign, it was the Brazilian and Saliba who were at the heart of an Arsenal defence who were quite solid. In total, Arteta’s side conceded just 43 goals in the Premier League, with the duo obviously playing their part.

The fact that Gabriel is left-footed and can comfortably play on the left side of Arsenal’s central defence also makes him a very useful asset to possess.

There are obviously a lot of games as well and the Gunners have already lost Jurrien Timber to a serious injury, so that is one less defender Arteta has available.

It shows why squad depth is so important and the benefit of keeping someone like Gabriel around.
