‘I will show Him why I’m EPL best DEFENDER’: Arsenal Star William Saliba sends strong warning to Marcus Rashford ahead of Arsenal vs Man united clash today
Arsenal defender William Saliba has claimed that Manchester City star Erling Haaland is harder to face than Marcus Rashford, although he did also heap praise on the Manchester United attacker.
When asked to rank Haaland, Rashford and Newcastle United frontman Alexander Isak, Saliba told Sky Sports: “I would probably say Haaland and then Rashford second and then Isak, I never played against him but I saw him and he is so good as well.” The French international will face Rashford and his United teammates on Sunday afternoon when Mikel Arteta’s side welcome Erik ten Hag and Co to the Emirates Stadium for their Premier League clash.
Regarding Rashford’s talent, the 22-year-old added: “Rashford is so so good, technique, speed. He is a tough player to play against.
“For me he’s better when he’s on the left, like this is for Ben White, not for me. As a striker as well he’s so good because he’s so fast and makes some good runs in behind so it’s hard to play against him.”
Arsenal got the better of the Red Devils when they met at the Emirates Stadium last season, winning 3-2 as Eddie Nketiah netted a last-minute winner in a thrilling encounter in north London. Meanwhile, United secured a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.
Ahead of the match, Gunners boss Arteta admitted that it is a huge match for both teams. “That’s what we want,” the Spaniard replied when asked about the importance of winning the game.
“We know the history between the two clubs and the games that we had in the past. Last year was a great example. It’s going to be a competitive match. A big battle on Sunday and we want to come away with three points.”
