Man United announce their 25-man Champions League squad ahead of the group stage but £40m flop is LEFT OUT and could still leave the club

Manchester United have named their 25-man Champions League squad for the group stage – but have left out £40million flop Donny van de Beek.

The competition will get underway later this month, with United drawn alongside fellow giants Bayern Munich as well as Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

Summer arrivals Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Sergio Reguilon, Sofyan Amrabat and Altay Bayindir have all made the cut along with the bulk of the first-team squad.

Mason Mount, meanwhile, is on the association-trained list with Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jadon Sancho, despite the latter’s future being unclear.

Jonny Evans, who has signed on for the season as a back-up centre back eight years after bringing an end to his lengthy first spell, features on the club-trained list.
