PREMIER LEAGUE ‘THAT’S POOR’: JAMIE CARRAGHER DISAPPOINTED BY ONE ARSENAL PLAYER

Jamie Carragher has criticised Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli on Sky Sports Football (8:05pm, August 5, 2022) for his early missed chance against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal are playing against London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League this evening.

It is the first league game of the season and is taking place at Selhurst Park at the moment.

Martinelli has started the match for Arsenal, and the 21-year-old Brazil international forward scored in the 20th minute.

However, the youngster could have given the Gunners the lead early in the game.

After just five minutes, Gabriel Jesus got past the Palace defence and took a shot that was blocked.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher is on co-commentary duty on the match on Sky Sports, and he was disappointed with the effort from Martinelli.

JAMIE CARRAGHER ON GABRIEL MARTINELLI MISS FOR ARSENAL V CRYSTAL PALACE

Carragher said on Sky Sports Football (8:05pm, August 5, 2022): “That’s poor, it really is from Martinelli. As the ball comes to him, you expect him to see the net. What an opportunity!”

While it was a disappointing miss, we have to give credit to Gabriel Martinelli for stepping up his game and eventually scoring for Arsenal in the first half.

Despite his initial miss, Martinelli continued to play his natural game, and his goal for Arsenal was well deserved.

The Brazilian is only 21, and he will learn from his mistakes and misses.
