Paul Merson has given his prediction ahead of tomorrow’s exciting clash between Chelsea and Arsenal.
Chelsea host rivals Arsenal on Saturday evening in the Premier League, with both teams looking to start well immediately after the international break.
The Blues sit mid-table in the league after a mediocre start to the season, but there’s definitely signs the team is gelling under Mauricio Pochettino’s coaching.
As for Arsenal, they’re second in the league table after six wins and two draws from their first eight matches.
The form guide and recent history certainly points towards an away win at Stamford Bridge.
Unbeaten Arsenal the favourites
Paul Merson mentions that Arsenal are the much more complete side, but he thinks Chelsea can be a “major threat” when they face expansive teams.
He’s gone with a score draw in his pre-match prediction.
Merson told Sportskeeda: “The only problem for Chelsea is that Arsenal are a polished team. Chelsea are just starting out, and that’s a big disadvantage for them this weekend. Arsenal are a settled unit and they know exactly what they’re doing. Chelsea are a hard team to predict – against teams that come out and play, they can be a major threat. The best game Chelsea have played at home this season was against Liverpool.
“Chelsea had built up some good momentum before the international break, and a lot depends on how they come back from the break. I’m going to go with a draw here, but if you asked me to get off the fence, I’d pick Arsenal to have the upper hand.
“Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal.”

You would think the Blues must be clinical when they get chances to score against Arsenal.
