‘You will see what will happen’: Gary Neville insists Arsenal ace will be banging on Mikel Arteta’s door after Chelsea draw

Gary Neville reckons Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will be knocking on Mikel Arteta’s door following Saturday’s draw at Chelsea. David Raya had an evening to forget at Stamford Bridge but was bailed out by his team-mates.

Arsenal came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 in west London. The Gunners preserved their unbeaten start in the Premier League as well as their second-place spot.

It looked as if Chelsea were going to beat the Gunners in a home league match for the first time in over five years. Cole Palmer had opened the scoring in the first half from the penalty spot.
Mykhaylo Mudryk then scored his first home goal for Chelsea against the team who came close to signing him in January. Just three minutes into the second half, the Ukraine star caught Raya out with a cross that looped over the Spaniard’s head.

Raya was embarrassed and almost gifted Chelsea a third minutes later when his poor pass out from the back went straight to Palmer, only for the Brentford loanee to make up for his error by preventing the forward from getting his shot off. That incident sparked Arsenal fans into singing Ramsdale’s name.

Neville was on co-commentary duty for Sky Sports and tore into Raya following Mudryk’s goal. He insists Ramsdale will be now demanding his place back in the team.

Neville said: “His positioning is not good enough there – he is too far forward. There are question marks, the last three games he has not been good.
