‘They will be second at the end of the season believe it or not’: Tim Sherwood picks who’ll finish higher – Tottenham or Arsenal
North London are dominating the Premier League this season as Tottenham and Arsenal remain the only unbeaten sides in the division.
It’s early days, but it’s not wholly ridiculous to say that we could have a Arsenal vs Spurs title race on our hands here.
For the first time in a while, this rivalry may be about more than just bragging rights as these two sides duke it out for English football’s greatest honour.
It’s tough to call which side will finish higher this season, but speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Tim Sherwood has put his neck on the line and made a call.
Sherwood predicts Totenham to finish higher than Arsenal
The pundit, understandably, backed his old club to finish above the Gunnners.
“Who finishes higher this season? Spurs or Arsenal?” Sherwood was asked.
“You know what answer I have to give. Spurs. If they finish higher than Arsenal they will be second, Man City win it,” Sherwood said.
Going to be close
This is going to be incredibly close, and this is one of the most intriguing sub-plots in the Premier League at the moment.
Spurs and Arsenal, interestingly have always seemed to ebb and flow together, and now they’re both probably playing the best football they’ve played for a decade at exactly the same time.
Arsenal proved last season that they’re more than capable of going a long way in a title race, but we’re yet to see that from Tottenham over a full season, so, unfortunately for Spurs fans, we’re going to have to back Arsenal here.
However, with that being said, Tottenham have taken every available opportunity to silence their doubters this season, so don’t be shocked if they do defy certain expectations and outdo Arsenal this term.
