It will be a great moment to have FOUR Brazilian playing for Arsenal’: Brazil Coach Confessed another Brazilian set to join the Likes of Gabriel Jesus by January
Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in Fluminense midfielder Andre, who is expected to leave Brazil at the end of this year.
Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte report that Andre has an agreement with Fluminense for a transfer at the end of the year, with Liverpool, Fulham, and Arsenal interested in him.
Before that, Andre will compete in the Club World Cup in December, with Fluminense having won the Copa Libertadores. But he’s then expected to be on the move.
Liverpool have already had a €30m (£26m) offer turned down, as Fluminense didn’t want to sell mid-season, and Andre was happy to stay to compete in the Copa Libertadores.
But that delay has allowed Arsenal to enter the race, sending scouts to watch him play in their game on Saturday.
Fluminense are expecting an offer in excess of €35m (£30.4m) from one of Andre’s suitors in January, and they intend to accept the best offer they receive.
Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar spent time in Brazil over the international break, and he reportedly visited a number of clubs including Fluminense.
But Edu visited a number of clubs, not just Fluminense, so it’s hard to read too much into his trip.
Andre is a central midfielder, and he’s made 53 appearances for Fluminense in 2023.
The 22-year-old plays a defensive role for his current side, and he’s no stranger to foul play, picking up four suspensions this year alone – one for a straight red card, one for a second yellow, and two for accumulations of yellow cards.
