‘I see greatness in him Although Arteta doesn’t know how to use Him and I really want to Have Him in team’: Roma boss Jose Mourinho now want to sign £50m Arsenal defender in January – NOT Saliba
Arsenal defender is attracting interest from Jose Mourinho’s Roma ahead of the January transfer window.
Roma are keen to land Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in January with a loan move being targeted by the Serie A side.
That is according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Roma are keen to land Kiwior in January.
Arsenal paid £20million to sign Kiwior from Spezia in January, having shown huge potential in Serie A.
The 23-year-old has only started two Premier League games this season though and his lack of action may result in some offers arriving…
Roma want to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior
Tuttomercatoweb report that Roma are keen to take Kiwior on loan to cover for the absence of Evan Ndicka.
Ndicka will be heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast in January.
That leaves Roma without a natural left-sided centre back for Jose Mourinho’s back three.
Kiwior is presented as one of the top targets on Roma’s list for that position with a loan deal until the summer wanted.
No permanent clause is mentioned with Roma potentially just looking towards Kiwior as short-term cover rather than offering a long-term return to Italy.
Arsenal unlikely to let Kiwior go
Kiwior only has 182 minutes of Premier League action under his belt this season and only six minutes of Champions League action.
That isn’t ideal for the 23-year-old, who went from being a star player for Spezia to a bit-part player for Arsenal.
Hailed as ‘really impressive’ by Mikel Arteta at the end of last season, Kiwior is now having to adjust to much less playing time.
Arsenal are unlikely to let Kiwior leave the club though, with Kiwior offering valuable cover for Gabriel Magalhaes as a left-sided centre back.
Arsenal are now dealing with a number of injuries, highlighting just how quickly the problems can pile up.
That means squad players like Kiwior surely won’t be available in January, meaning Mourinho may face disappointment.
