Manchester United ready to agree £690,000 a week terms to sign star – agreement reached already
Manchester United are interested in hiring the services of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and the latest reports are intriguing.
As per yesterday’s version of Sport (news image provided below), United and Chelsea look to lure the Atletico Madrid star, who has been in brilliant form this season.
The Rojiblancos expects the playmaker to extend his stay with the club but the interest from the Premier League has created doubts in his mind.
Griezmann’s current deal with the Colchoneros has a relatively low release clause of 25 million euros and United, who have to strengthen the offense, see it as a great opportunity.
The 32-year-old had interest from Saudi Arabia and USA but he turned them down, however, he would be more than willing to play in England, especially for Man Utd.
It is stated that the former Barcelona star is tempted to move to Old Trafford, his idol was David Beckham and that is why he likes to wear the No.7 shirt.
Sport claim the Red Devils can afford the deal and are even willing to treble the player’s salary to get the signing done.
Griezmann currently earns a salary of £230,000 a week. This means Man Utd are ready to pay around 690,000 a week to sign the Les Bleus star.
In the current campaign, so far, the veteran attacking midfielder has featured in 16 games for Atletico and directly contributed in 13 goals.
Have your say – Should Man Utd activate the 25 million euros clause to sign Antoine Griezmann?
