Arsenal

I spoke with Arteta of recent And I have finally decided that I will join on ONE condition’: Kylian Mbappe finally reveals the only condition that will make Him change His mind to join Arsenal before transfer window elapse

Opportunity knocks for Arsenal as the January transfer window opens and brings about the chance to bolster the squad for the rest of the season and the campaigns beyond it. It is becomingly increasingly clear that the Gunners will need to add to their attacking options in the near future.

There are a number of players that have been linked, from Ivan Toney to Victor Osimhen, but they will likely cost upwards of £100million. Instead, the north London outfit could agree a pre-contract with Kylian Mbappe to sign him in the summer without paying a transfer fee.

With that said, here’s a look at the deal itself, how it could work and whether it would be feasible for Arsenal in the coming weeks ahead.

What has the manager said about transfers and targets?
Mikel Arteta has been pretty coy when it comes to discussions surrounding transfers in the January market, instead he has been keen on pointing out that he wants to work with his current players. Speaking to Sky Sports after defeat to Fulham, the manager said: “[We have to] do what we have done in 19 of the games, with the same players.” When pushed on signings, he reiterated: “The same players,” once again to try and quiet any talks of potential signings.

Mbappe has just six-months remaining on his contract at PSG, meaning that he is now available to sign on a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs as a free agent in the summer.

How much will he cost?
With a dwindling contract, it’s clear that Arsenal could land the forward sensation on a free transfer, but that doesn’t mean it would be a cheap deal. The contract demands of Mbappe are likely to be huge, given his reputation, ability and the fact that the club would save on a transfer fee.

According to a recent report from AS, via SportWitness, Mbappe is asking for a yearly wage of €35million (£30.5million) after tax and a signing bonus of roughly €100million (£87million).
