‘Agreement reached’ – Arsenal agree personal terms for signing, ‘feelings are positive’ on transfer
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz for him to join them on deadline day of the transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who says talks remain underway between Aston Villa and Arsenal over a transfer fee.
Luiz has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer as he’s in the final year of his contract at the club and shown no willingness to extend his deal.
He had looked likely to move to Italy but that move never materialised and it seems he could instead be moving to London.
Arsenal have emerged as suitors in the final hours of the window and Galetti reports that there is an ‘agreement reached’ between the Gunners and Luiz on personal terms.
There are now ‘ongoing talks’ with Aston Villa over a transfer fee and the ‘feelings are positive’ in those negotiations.
He makes no mention of the fees being discussed between the two clubs, or the nature of the personal terms the Gunners are offering the Brazilian, just that things are progressing quickly on a possible move to the Emirates.
