Fresh bid made: Man united set to complete the signing of £40m striker who has 10 league goals this season – Erik Ten Hag wants another striker to replace Hujlund
Manchester United are looking to reinforce their strike force and the name of Serhou Guirassy has been in the focus for some time.
Last month, reports indicated that the Red Devils are pushing a lot to lure the Guinean international in the January transfer window.
As per The Athletic, the Old Trafford club may decide to invest in securing the African striker this month.
According to an exclusive story covered by Spanish source, Todo Fichajes, Man Utd are now ready to agree a fee worth £15.1m (17.5 million euros) to sign Guirassy from Stuttgart in the winter window.
£15.1m is the release clause in the forward’s contract and the media outlet have mentioned that United are determined to pay the amount.
Guirassy has been one of the best goal scorers in the current campaign. He has already found the net 17 times in just 12 starts in the German Bundesliga.
Moreover, the 27-year-old has directly contributed in 3 goals in 2 DFB-Pokal appearances thus far.
Hence, in all fairness, the £15.1m valuation is a huge market opportunity, one that Man Utd must avail to strengthen the striking department as summer signing, Rasmus Hojlund, has thus far failed in the Premier League.
The Guinean international has been named in the squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, so, even if Ten Hag signs him, he will not be available this month.
