4-2-3-1: Predicted Mufc Xi vs Wigan Athletic – Amad starts, Dalot left-back, Mainoo plays as Ten Hag set to try another tactics
There can be no doubt that Manchester United’s best chance at silverware is now the FA Cup. The Old Trafford side, under Erik ten Hag, will be looking to produce their best form in the oldest club competition this country has to offer.
Our FA Cup third round game is an away tie against League One side Wigan Athletic. Make no mistake about it, the Lancashire side will be looking to upset the applecart here, which is certainly possible against this hit and miss Red Devils team.
It’s about starting well, quietening down what will be a lively home crowd, while getting the 7,000 travelling fans onside with a confident performance. I actually have full faith in this collection of players, assuming they’re all believing in themselves and putting in the required effort.
Anyway, without further ado, let’s give you the full run-down of our predicted side for this one.
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Wigan Athletic in full here:
Altay Bayindir starts in between the sticks here, with the Turk finally being given an opportunity to prove his worth and show us all how talented he is.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts in the right-back position, with the Englishman looking to continue his good form. Diogo Dalot will play off the left as he remains the only viable option in that area due to injuries. Raphael Varane is fit and will start alongside the veteran Jonny Evans.
Kobbie Mainoo is the man of the moment, so it does make sense to continue with the young midfielder here. Christian Eriksen offers a calmness and some genuine quality on the ball in the middle of the park, with Bruno Fernandes making up the midfield three.
Rasmus Hojlund will start as the main striker, fresh off of his first goal for the club against Aston Villa. To his right, Amad will be given a chance to shine, with Marcus Rashford completing the team.
