Arsenal hope to sign Ajax starlet Jorrel Hato this summer with the Gunners expecting offers for Jakub Kiwior.

Kiowor, 22, joined the Gunners from Serie A side Spezia during last season’s January window, offering Mikel Arteta an option at centre-half and left-back.

He has started just eight games in all competitions this season, however. A number of Serie A sides were interested in bringing him back to Italy during the January window, AC Milan among them, but Arsenal opted to keep in north London rather than leave themselves short for the second half of the season.

The Evening Standard report Milan are among the clubs expected to revive their interest in the summer, hopeful Arsenal will have changed that stance.

The Gunners meanwhile will focus their efforts on bringing in Ajax sensation Hato to bolster their backline.

The 17-year-old has been ever-present om the Ajax starting XI this season, predominantly featuring at centre-half but also filling in at left-back.

He has also captained the Dutch giants this season with just 18 months left on his current contract.

Arsenal did business with Ajax last summer, signing Jurrien Timber who suffered a major knee injury on his Premier League debut.

‘Of course at some points it’s been difficult, because you’re not playing, and that’s the thing you love to do.

‘Sometimes you really want to join the team – when you are enjoying the game so much you really want to get down there and be part of it.

‘That’s frustrating, because sometimes it looks so amazing you want to be part of it.

‘But I use that as motivation during my recovery. I see the boys a lot, at the training ground but also at the games, and that’s been good for me too.

‘These months will definitely make me stronger.
