Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has given his verdict on Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

So, what has Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said about Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana? Let’s take a look.

Unai Emery praises Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana
Well, Aston Villa will take on Manchester United at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been looking ahead to the match.

The Villa boss has noted the problems that United could cause for his team. Emery has highlighted the importance of Andre Onana in Erik ten Hag’s side.

Onana joined United from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 for an initial transfer fee of £43.8 million (BBC Sport).

The Cameroon international goalkeeper worked with United manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

United decided to let David de Gea go at the end of last season and signed Onana as his replacement.

Onana is supposed to be better than De Gea with his feet and is crucial in how United build play out from the back, but there have been concerns over his shot-stopping ability.

Emery told BBC Sport: “We have to try to stop them, starting with the goalkeeper because his build-up is fantastic. They have very good wingers and strikers and that is my concern.”

My View: Aston Villa should target Andre Onana
I think that Aston Villa should target Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

I think that Villa should press high and close down Onana whenever he has the ball.

I also believe that the Villans should take a lot of shots on goal and put the former Ajax goalkeeper under pressure.

Villa are in the running for the Premier League top four this season, and a win against United at Villa Park would be massive for the Villans in that quest
