GOALLLLLLL: Hujlund scores an impossible goal to put Man United upfront against Aston villa – we’re winning this
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made one change to the starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa on the road.
The Red Devils have won back-to-back matches in the top-flight and they will be eyeing another victory to close the gap to the top four to just six points.
Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has made a solitary change with Raphael Varane coming into the starting line-up in place of the injured Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez suffered a knee injury in the recent 3-0 win over West Ham United and it has been confirmed that he won’t return to action for at least eight weeks.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.
United were two goals down to Villa in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford. They made a terrific comeback to win 3-2. Rasmus Hojlund scored the winner which was his maiden Premier League goal.
The Dane has since scored in his next three league appearances for the Red Devils. He will be keen to impress against the Villans, who conceded thrice in the midweek FA Cup loss to Chelsea.
The game is a must-win for United in our opinion. A victory would take them within six points off the fourth spot while a defeat would be damaging for their Champions League prospects.
A Villa win would see them go 11 points clear of United which would be a huge setback. The fans will be hoping that the club will turn up with a strong performance combined with three points.
