‘GREAT NEWS’: Luke Shaw injury return date announced as player expected to be in Man united match day squad to face Luton over the weekend – Happy moment for Man united fans
Erik ten Hag has shared the latest information on Luke Shaw, ahead of the Luton Town game this weekend.
Manchester United Football Club were dealt a concern at half-time against Aston Villa last weekend, as Luke Shaw went off with an apparent problem.
Just when the Englishman was getting back up to full speed following a serious injury issue, the left-back went down again…
In the week, the initial indications were that it was more precautionary than a serious issue. It goes without saying, that would be a welcome relief for a man who vastly improves our side when fit.
Now, Erik ten Hag has offered his update on Shaw, claiming that the ex-Southampton man is ‘doubtful’ for the weekend, though he feels ‘positive’ about his chances at making it.
Check out what the gaffer had to say on Luke Shaw in full here:
“Luke is doubtful for the weekend but we are positive he can make it. He came out as a preacaution, it was the right direction. We work until Sunday.” Ten Hag is quoted as saying by the MEN’s Tyrone Marshall.
My gut says Shaw is going to play. That’s obviously a massive boost. He’s by far and away the best left-back at the club and we’re going to need him for the season run-in.
Thankfully, taking off Shaw as a precaution seems to have worked as he’s avoided serious injury and looking good to play here.
With Tyrell Malacia completely absent right now, keeping Shaw fit is vital. If there’s any chance that the issue becomes worse by playing Shaw here, I’d sit him as United should be beating Brighton. Though I do believe he’s as close to 100% as physically possible at this stage of the season, so I guess it’s a non-issue.
