Not Pochettino or McKenna – Sky Sports: Man Utd have held talks with two top managers to replace Ten Hag

Erik ten Hag is still the manager of Manchester United, despite the club having approached and held talks with representatives of Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, as reported by GIVEMESPORT.

Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain while the United board considers all options this week during internal meetings to review his second season.

Last season, United finished eighth in the Premier League, their worst result since 1989-1990. Despite winning the FA Cup, speculation about Ten Hag’s future has increased, with United reportedly meeting with representatives of other potential candidates.

Before their final match of the season against Manchester City, United met with Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna’s team, according to Sky Sports. McKenna, who was also linked with a move to Chelsea, decided to stay with Ipswich as they approach their Premier League return.

United have also been linked with Pochettino, Tuchel, and former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who recently left his position at Brighton.

Ten Hag’s Future Still Uncertain
The review of the season is ongoing, and it remains unclear if the FA Cup victory will influence the board’s decision regarding Ten Hag, who has secured two trophies in his two seasons with United.

Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT that Ten Hag might not be out of a job just yet, despite the club’s discussions with other managers.

He said:
“I know there have been approaches and talks with representatives of various managers. You’ve mentioned Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino, and Kieran McKenna, who is now staying at Ipswich. But this doesn’t automatically mean Erik ten Hag is out of a job. The review will take time, and they need a contingency plan if they decide Ten Hag is not the right person.”

Former Bayern coach Tuchel has expressed his admiration for the Premier League, stating he felt ‘more appreciated’ during his time at Chelsea. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tuchel is on the shortlist to replace Ten Hag if the Dutchman is sacked.

Man United ‘Confident’ on Olise and Branthwaite Deals
INEOS is prepared to spend £100 million on Premier League duo Michael Olise and Jarrad Branthwaite, according to talkSPORT. United are yet to make their first signings for the new campaign and could secure the duo for around £100 million. Crystal Palace values Olise at about £60 million, while Everton’s financial issues could see Branthwaite sold for as low as £40 million.
