‘Can’t say no’ to Arteta: ‘Absolutely unreal’ UCL hero is ready to make Arsenal move

Arsenal transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk has suggested that he wouldn’t be able to say ‘no’ to the Gunners in an interview with Ben Jacobs.

Fabrizio Romano reported during the January transfer window that the Premier League club are following the Ukrainian with a view to a potential move. They made contact with the player’s camp but have yet to hold formal discussions with his club Shakhtar Donetsk.

A 21-year-old left winger, Mudryk could compete with Gabriel Martinelli for game-time if he moves to north London.

Mudryk admits that he ‘dreams’ about playing in the English top flight and says the opportunity to work with Mikel Arteta at a team of Arsenal’s level would be too good to turn down.

He told the CBS Sports journalist: “I think every guy dreams about the Premier League.

“Yes yes, it’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach, I like the way they play. From my side I can’t say no [to Arsenal].”

Arsenal fans should be excited by these comments, as Mudryk is a very intriguing talent. He demonstrated that on Tuesday night in Shakhtar’s Champions League Group F opener against RB Leipzig, scoring one goal and setting up two more in a 4-1 win.

Football presenter and pundit Jack Collins called him ‘absolutely unreal’ in light of that display, and looked beyond his goal contributions, saying: “His explosiveness in small bursts is almost undefendable and his ability to keep the ball tethered to his foot, even at full speed, is Bernardo-esque. He’s going to be a star.”

If the 21-year-old is able to build on that display in Germany, then it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see Edu come knocking in the January transfer window.
