Bryan King believes Manchester United will return with an improved offer for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
The ex-Goodison scout claims the Red Devils could look to include a player as part of their third offer.
As reported by The Times (9 July), Everton turned down a second offer from United for Branthwaite worth £50million. However, Erik Ten Hag’s side are expected to return with a third bid.
And King -speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has suggested how United might look to sweeten the pot.
“I think United will make a third bid,” King said.
“Perhaps they might offer £50million plus a player or increased add-ons. However, I can’t see them paying much more than £50million.
“Branthwaite still has a lot to prove. They already made one mistake by spending big money on Harry Maguire, I’m sure they won’t want to do that again.”
Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United?
This could be a tempting deal for the Toffees.
Branthwaite is thought to be very keen on the idea of making a move to Old Trafford (via Give Me Sport, 9 July).
As a result, selling the player might be best for Everton. If United were to offer £50million plus a player, that could be very favourable.
The £50million would go a long way in boosting the club’s finances and there are several players on the books at Old Trafford who could drastically improve Everton.
Therefore, this offer could prove to be the most tempting yet and might end up being too hard for Everton to resist.
