40′ Spain 0-0 England

That was a good spell for Spain, who were starting to come at England in attacking waves. But again, the final delivery is poor and England have a goal kick.

The one thing England will be looking to avoid is that build-up of momentum and pressure from Spain. They have to retain an attacking threat, and grab some of the ball in the meantime too.

Then it’s about what they do with their possession. For recent phases, it’s been pretty slow and patient.

41′ Spain 0-0 England

Spain having no joy with crosses thus far — only one of nine has reached a team-mate.

Morata has been isolated and they’ve put crosses in particularly early.

Much harder for them to get sufficient numbers in the box when England drop into a 5-4-1 too.

44′ Spain 0-0 England

Danger there as Morata runs in behind from Laporte’s lovely through-ball. He cuts onto his right foot in the box, but Guehi holds him up and then Stones completes well to clear for the corner.

Walker helps clear the following set-piece.

It’s simmering along so far, this final.
