HERE WE GO: Manchester United have reached verbal agreement to sign £70m European superstar,Bid accepted as medical schedule to hold today – welcome to Old Trafford

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte over personal terms, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

In recent weeks, Ugarte has emerged as a prime candidate for United in their efforts to bolster Erik ten Hag’s midfield department ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will depart Old Trafford and if so, the pair will certainly need to be replaced. There’s also the small matter of finding the perfect pivot partner for young Kobbie Mainoo. This is where Ugarte comes in.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person divulged that United had tabled an opening bid for Ugarte, which was swiftly turned down by PSG as it fell short of their valuation of the South American.

It was stated that United remained in talks with the reigning Ligue 1 giants to try and reach middle ground over the transfer fee.

There have even been suggestions that Erik ten Hag’s side could propose a loan deal to PSG for their 23-year-old combative midfielder.

It’s understood that Ugarte himself would love to play for United as he doesn’t believe that he has a future in Paris, after falling down the pecking order under Luis Enrique.

Italian journalist Romano has given a key update on the situation and indicated that he has accepted the terms put on the table by the Red Devils.

Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Manuel Ugarte.”

“Contract terms discussed, player keen on moving to United even without Champions League football.”

“Club-to-club talks continue with PSG, as more clubs also inquired.”

“Same agent as Leny Yoro: Jorge Mendes.”

Ugarte made 37 appearances across all competitions for PSG last term. He registered just two assists in that period.

In addition to United, the Uruguayan has also been linked to La Liga giants Barcelona and Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.
