Monday morning deal: Manchester United have finally came to conclusion to swap Antony with £80m Dutch midfielder, decision taken during last board meeting as Ten Hag set to welcome another Dutchman in His squad
Manchester United are yet to reinforce things in the center of the park in the summer transfer window and once again, the name of Frenkie de Jong is in the focus.
The Dutch international, who is valued at £86million, has been a dream of Erik ten Hag, who managed the midfielder at Ajax before he left for Barca.
Two years back, Man Utd were able to agree a deal worth 80 million euros to sign the Oranje star from the Catalan giants, however, the player decided to stay at the Nou Camp.
Now, according to Spanish source, Nacional, Ten Hag has offered a swap deal involving Antony to finally sign Frenkie De Jong for Man Utd.
The Brazilian international proved to be a hit under the Netherlands boss at Ajax, but he has proved to be a massive flop in the Premier League.
Antony joined United in a deal worth £86million from the Eredivisie club and in the last campaign, he only found the net once in 29 league games.
Hence, it is a huge shock that Ten Hag has offered arguably the biggest flop in the team to get De Jong, who is one of the most important members of the Barca squad.
What is not shocking is that, as per the Catalan outlet, the Blaugrana are not interested in Antony, they do want to sign a winger but the South American does not fit the profile.
Barca already have Lamine Yamal on the right flank and Raphinha in the backup and in all fairness, both are way better than the Old Trafford winger.
Hence, Man Utd should try a better formula to have any chance of signing De Jong.
