Having already signed four players this summer transfer window, Man Utd need to find creative solutions to bring in a new midfielder whilst being careful not to break the PSR rules of the Premier League. The club is looking out for arrangements.
One thing that can help is if two clubs are interested in a swap deal and that could be on the table for Man Utd. Since the beginning of this transfer window, one player that we’ve wanted to sign is PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
PSG signed the Uruguayan from Sporting CP just last summer for around £51.5m but things haven’t worked out for him. Luis Enrique does not trust him going forward and the club is looking to move him on this summer.
As per the Independent, PSG’s long-time interest in Jadon Sancho could help Man Utd land Ugarte this summer. The English winger could join the French giants on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy next season.
The report adds that the two clubs have been holding talks for weeks now with the name of Marcus Rashford also being discussed.
Man Utd and PSG are now prepared to reach a deal that would also see Ugarte come to Old Trafford as a part of this. PSG valued the player at around £59m but things could change when the two clubs are trying to pull off a swap deal.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan midfielder would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford. A classic defensive midfielder, Ugarte put up a masterclass in the recently completed Copa America where he was arguably the best player for Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
Ugarte did not get a fair chance at PSG and his last 12 months might not have been the best that it could have been.
If the Uruguayan can realize his true potential at Old Trafford, he will be an excellent player for Man Utd in the coming years. Let’s see how things play out.
