Arsenal set to make January move for 25-year-old Leicester City midfield star

Premier League giants Man Utd and Arsenal have reportedly stepped up talks to secure services of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

 

The 25-year-old midfielder’s future at the King Power Stadium is believed to be uncertain as he has one year left on his current deal.

 

The North London giants and the Red Devils have been linked with a £30m move for the Belgium international, although Mikel Arteta refused to be drawn on rumours when questioned by the media last weekend, while Ten Hag is believed to have identified as a cheaper alternative to Frenkie de Jong.

 

Nevertheless, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, via Give Me Sport, reports that “talks have ramped up” between Arsenal and Leicester over a talks for Tielemans, with the Gunners expected to make an official bid.

 

Arsenal have already signed Fabio Vieira from Portuguese giants, Porto this summer, however, Arteta is believed to be an fan of Tielemans and is keen to bring him at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Thus far Manchester United had signed only Tyler Malacia, while they are also closing in on a deal for Lisandro Martines who has already joined Ten Hag’s squad for the Pre-season in Australia

Tielemans, who has also been linked with the likes of West Ham United and Newcastle United, has managed to found back of the net 24 times and 24 assists in 185 games for Leicester across all tournaments, including the winning goal in the 2021 FA Cup final against Chelsea.
