Now, the Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are eyeing a move for one of Liverpool’s targets.
Arsenal interested in Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon
Anthony Gordon is one of Newcastle United’s most important players.
The England international joined the Magpies from Everton in January 2023. He had a slow start to his Toon career, but he stepped up in the 2023/24 campaign.
Gordon scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists for Newcastle last season, and his performances caught the attention of a number of top clubs.
The Daily Mail reveal now that Arsenal are the latest to express an interest in signing the 23-year-old winger, but that is unlikely to be possible on deadline day.
The outlet claims that Gordon is ‘set to stay’ at St James’ Park beyond tonight’s deadline. Eddie Howe’s side have already held preliminary talks with him over a new contract too.
However, the report reveals that ‘Edu is a big admirer of the 23-year-old, who features on a list of players identified as future targets, and they could make an approach next summer’.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Gordon in the coming months.
