“Erik ten Hag won’t take Man United anywhere with such mentality”: Jurgen Klopp reveals ONE WRONG DECISIONS made by Erik ten Hag which could relegate Man United

Jurgen Klopp was not a fan of Manchester United’s decision to offload Jadon Sancho – insisting the manager has to stick by the player and not just deem him “useless”.

The winger’s future had been the subject of debate heading into this summer after he managed to regain his form whilst at on loan at Borussia Dortmund last term, helping them to reach the Champions League final.

That came after his public spat with Erik ten Hag – with the player criticising the manager after he was left out of a matchday squad 12 months ago. That saw him left out in the cold in Manchester, before he was reintegrated back into the first-team group this summer.

A deadline day switch to Chelsea, though, looks to have ended his time at Old Trafford. The £72million asset has headed to west London on loan with the Blues having an obligation to buy Sancho. All of which means his underwhelming stint in Manchester is over – but Klopp believes he should’ve been shown far more support before he was sold.

The ex-Liverpool boss said prior to his deadline day switch: “If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player. I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”

Sancho leaves the Red Devils having scored just 12 times. The Englishman has also lost his spot with the Three Lions since moving back to the Premier League but is now seeking to prove himself in the top flight at Chelsea, albeit they have huge competition for places.

United’s sporting director Dan Ashworth claimed it was the depth in their attack which meant they green lighted Sancho’s exit. The club have numerous options and Ten Hag had overlooked Sancho for both matchday squads this season – highlighting the limited game time he was set to get.
