“If they must be strong like Man City then they must appoints this particular manager”: Christiano Ronaldo names the only manager who can change Man United for good

Manchester United are making steps to change and Cristiano Ronaldo is pleased to see it.

Cristiano Ronaldo blew up his Manchester United career in November 2022 with an outspoken interview where he made continuing at the club untenable.

Ronaldo made a series of claims in his two-part interview, lambasting the manager, but also the owners, and lack of investment.

In many ways, Ronaldo was the Glazers‘ final throw of the dice, and it didn’t work. Their decision to invite takeover bids and strategic investment was announced shortly after.

It took 13 months to get there, before Ineos sealed their investment into the club, and they have begun making ambitious plans on and off the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo pleased with Ineos ambition

Ineos have just overseen their first transfer window, and now the work is really set to begin on delivering the infrastructure projects Manchester United need.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to transform United, and part of this includes the possibility to build a new 100,000 seater stadium.

At training ground Carrington, work is already underway to improve it and turn it into the world class facility United need.

In Ronaldo’s controversial 2022 interview, he blasted the training facilities as showing no upgrades from when he left in 2009 to when he returned in 2021.

Now, speaking to Rio Ferdinand Presents, quoted via The Sun, Ronaldo has expressed his happiness that Ineos are already getting on with making improvement at Carrington.

He explained: “This club needs time to rebuild because it’s still one of the best clubs in the world, but they need to change. They understand that. This is the only way.

“This is why they show, they start to change again, the structure of the club, the president, the infrastructures and everything. The owners of the club.

“They’re investing in the training ground…So I’m happy because [things are changing] I’m not happy the way it all happened, but in the same way, we cannot control some points of our life sometimes, but it’s done, already done.”
