‘Feel sorry’: Jeff Stelling reacts to what has happened to £70,000-a-week Arsenal player

Jeff Stelling has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at Arsenal star Bukayo Saka being played as a left wing-back for England against Italy at San Siro in the UEFA Nations League on Friday evening.

Saka is one of the best players for Arsenal and has also established himself as a key figure for England.

The £70,000-a-week (The Daily Mail) 21-year-old has played mainly on the right of midfield for the Gunners so far this season.

Saka has scored one goal and given four assists in seven Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this campaign.

England head coach Gareth Southgate has regularly used Saka in his team, and there was no surprise to see the Arsenal youngster start for the Three Lions against Italy in the UEFA Nations League on Friday evening.

However, Southgate thought that it would be a good idea to play the youngster at left wing-back.

It did not work.

At all.

Saka simply could not play to the best of his ability, and it was clear that he did not enjoy the role and did not feel comfortable in that position.

The Arsenal star looked lost at left wing-back, and Sky Sports Soccer Saturday presenter, Jeff Stelling, has said that he felt sorry for Saka.

Just like we all did.
