“As a professional coach, I thinks I reserve all the right to correct BABY coach like Erik ten Hag, he still have alot to learn because no professional coach will start such player… I’m so disappointed by his decision to start that particular player”: Fc Twente coach names the only player who doesn’t deserve any minutes in Man United

A Manchester United star has been criticised for a comment he made after his side’s 1-1 draw with FC Twente in the Europa League.

United took a first half lead through Christian Eriksen, but Sam Lammers equalised for the visitors in the second half.

That meant manager Erik ten Hag only took a point from the match against his former club, with seven fixtures still to play in the Europa League group stage.

But it was the manner of the performance that concerned United fans the most, with Eriksen claiming that Twente ‘wanted it more’.

He told TNT Sports after the game. “It’s disappointing. We wanted more in the end, but it wasn’t good enough.

“They looked like they wanted it more than us, and that can’t be right. That was said in the dressing room.”

Ten Hag agreed with Eriksen’s comment in his post-match interview, stating: “We’re very ambitious, and when you have ambition, you have to perform.

“Today, especially in the second half, we were too complacent. We didn’t bring it over the line and, as a team, you have to bring this.”

However, the admission left United fans fuming.
