BREAKING NEWS: Man United reached agreement with 50-year-old SUPER MANAGER to replace Erik ten Hag as the club’s head coach
Manchester United have had a poor start to the season and they are presently 14th in the Premier League with only eight points from seven games.
The club have also struggled in the Europa League with back-to-back draws and manager Erik ten Hag does not have much time on his hands.
United host Brentford in the league on Saturday and anything less than a win could lead to serious questions over his position at the helm.
Amidst this, Ajansspor claim that Turkey manager Vincenzo Montella is one of the names under consideration to replace Ten Hag at United.
Overall, he has won only 45.3% of his matches as a head coach. We believe he would not be a good appointment and United should look at a higher profile.
As of now, Ten Hag has the backing from the hierarchy, but he has to turnaround the club’s fortunes.
If United continue the current run of form until the next international break, there is a high possibility that INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will consider replacing him.
Montella won’t be a good appointment
The 50-year-old took charge of Turkey’s national team last year, but his record is not exceptional with a win percentage of only 53 from 17 outings.
Turkey had a good run at the European Championship as they reached the quarter-finals, but a manager should be judged on his overall track record.
Montella has one piece of silverware in the Italian Super Cup as manager. That came with AC Milan between 2016 and 2017 where he won 33 out of 64 games.
