Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will be watching Arsenal’s clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Gunners take on the Merseyside club in the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium as they look to return to winning ways in the top flight.
Mikel Arteta’s team lost 2-0 to Bournemouth last weekend in the Premier League but did claim a victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek.
Arsenal go into the fixture against Liverpool four points behind their title rivals, and are also six behind leaders Man City after Saturday’s results. City claimed a 1-0 win over Southampton thanks to an early goal from Erling Haaland to leapfrog Liverpool in the table and move further clear of Arsenal.
After guiding City to a win over Southampton on Saturday, Guardiola was asked if he would be interested in watching Arsenal’s clash against Liverpool in North London. The City boss responded by admitting that he will be watching the game, while also explaining that the manner of other results in the Premier League shows three points are never inevitable.
“I will watch it [Arsenal vs Liverpool],” Guardiola told the Manchester Evening News. “I prefer to be top than not be top but it’s not a problem. Look what happened today.
“Aston Villa drop points [versus Bournemouth], Brighton drop points [versus Wolves]. Because it’s so difficult. We won in Wolves in the 95th minute.
“Today we had chances. We could have scored two, three, four. The expected goals is much higher. But I had to admit today was so demanding game for us.”
