Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says his team will have a “big chance” of beating Chelsea as long as they keep faith with their style of play.

Consecutive 1-0 defeats to Newcastle and Inter Milan have led to questions being asked about the club’s direction under Arteta but the Spaniard insists that things will come good if they stick with their current approach:

“If we play the way we play, we’ll have a big chance to win against Chelsea. That’s the way we have to go.”

The Gunners face the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening with the two teams level on points going into the London derby.

Arsenal have been handed a big fitness boost ahead of the fixture
Captain Martin Odegaard made his first appearance since the end of August after coming on for the final few minutes of the loss to Inter on Wednesday evening.

The Norwegian international picked up an ankle injury during the September international break so he has been on the sidelines for quite some time.

For that reason, it would be a risk to start Odegaard this weekend but Arsenal have really missed his creativity and he could help his team get back on the right track with a win.

Who are the favourites heading into the London derby?
The Gunners are actually favoured to beat Chelsea on Sunday despite the fact that they are away from home. Bookmakers have them as short as 11/8 to get the three points.

It is, however, a finely poised match, with some bookies pricing Arsenal’s opponents at 7/4, with a draw currently regarded as the least likely outcome.

With it being the last game before the next round of internationals, Arteta will be hoping that his team can go into the break on a high.
