To make matters worse, they will collide against league leaders and arch rivals, Liverpool, who have a much superior team.
United did sign five players in the summer but they have hardly improved the squad and majority are not even used to Amorim’s new 3-4-3 system.
Therefore, the Portuguese manager must reinforce the team in the current transfer window and the name of Nuno Mendes has been in the lime light lately.
The former Sporting CP left back won the Liga Nos title under Amorim but at the moment, he is struggling to find game time at Paris Saint-Germain.
In the current campaign, so far, he has only started eight games in the Ligue 1 as Luis Enrique does not trust him and the manager has even used Lucas Beraldo, a natural CB, in the LB role.
Therefore, Nuno Mendes is looking to leave and as per reports, he is ready to sign for Man Utd.
As per today’s version of Correio da Manha (press image at the end), the 22-year-old wants to join the Red Devils and even wants his girlfriend to join him.
The Brazilian model lives in Portugal and has been spotted several times at the Parc de Princes, but Mendes wants her to travel to Manchester and she is ‘already thinking about packing her bags’ for the city.
In the 2020-21 campaign, the 33-capped international featured in 29 games for Sporting CP as the main left wing back and Amorim’s men went on to become the champions of Portugal.
