Manchester United have been linked with multiple players during the ongoing transfer window, but they have yet to make a formal approach.
Calciomercato.it today report that the Red Devils could make their first winter signing with the help of agent Kia Joorabchian.
As per the Italian outlet, the Bianconeri are eyeing a new striker, and there is a possibility of a superlative swap deal on the cards.
Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee, and manager Thiago Motta considers him as a perfect fit for his squad.
Calciomercato.it claim that Joorabchian could take Zirkzee to the Bianconeri in a swap deal that could see his other client Douglas Luiz move the other way.
The Red Devils are also interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Luiz only joined Juventus from Aston Villa for £42 million last summer, but he has already been linked with a return to England.
United could be tempted by Zirkzee-Luiz swap
Luiz was one of the best midfielders in European football last term. He registered 10 goals and 10 assists from 53 outings for Unai Emery’s side.
His move to Juventus was forced due to PSR concerns. Luiz has struggled for form and consistency in Turin and could return to the Premier League soon.
Nottingham Forest are showing interest in his services, but we recently covered an opinion that United should make a loan swoop for the Brazilian.
Luiz would be a fantastic acquisition to bolster the midfield ranks at United. He can operate as a defensive, central or attacking midfielder.
His creativity and defensive attributes could improve the club’s results, but it is unclear whether Zirkzee would be open to a mid-season exchange deal.
Despite his struggles this campaign, the Dutchman intends to stay and has no plans to leave. He could assess his future again during the summer.
