Arsenal are already holding ‘concrete talks’ with RB Leipzig over striker Benjamin Sesko as they plan a big summer transfer window.

That’s according to Sky Germany, who report that the poker game around Sesko is ‘really getting started’ and talks are already underway with Arsenal.

They report that Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer is believed to be in contact with Arsenal’s new sporting director Andrea Berta to discuss a possible transfer.

Leipzig desperately need revenue after missing out on the Champions League this season. Sesko is one of the top candidates to be sold this summer.

The German side value the striker at over €80m but a variable release clause in his current contract means he is likely to leave at some point. Leipzig are open to other payment structures, meaning Sesko would be ‘freely negotiable’ this summer. That also means Leipzig can push the price up.

Arsenal were already interested in Sesko last summer and Sky insist he is the top target ahead of Viktor Gyökeres. According to their information, he is Mikel Arteta’s preferred candidate to become their new first-choice striker.

Talks are already underway between the two sides, and it seems there is a belief in Germany that a deal can be done.
