Manchester United have welcomed aboard teenage centre-back Bobby Faulkner for a three-day work experience stint.
Faulkner, 18, plays for Doncaster Rovers and has made 12 appearances for the first team this season, scoring one goal.
He becomes the first player from the Football League to join Manchester United as part of the club’s development programme, The Doncaster Free Press reports.
Started up last season, Manchester United have sent players for brief spells at clubs in League One and Two, including young strikers Charlie McNeill and Joe Hugill.
Earlier this season United sent FA Youth Cup winning duo Maxi Oyedele and Sam Mather to Doncaster for a brief spell.
Bobby Faulkner links up with Manchester United
Now both clubs have agreed Doncaster prospect Bobby Faulkner would benefit from linking up with Manchester United’s development squad for a short stint.
Doncaster Free Press report Faulkner is expected to be on the radar of several Premier League clubs after breaking into the first team.
He joined up with United on Monday (31/10) for a three day spell until November 2.
Faulkner was part of the Doncaster Rovers match day squads last season, along with Manchester United loanee Ethan Galbraith, although did not make his debut.
He won’t see Galbraith at United during his brief stint as the Northern Ireland under-21 international is out on loan at Salford City.
Doncaster signed Faulkner to a new two-year contract in the summer after being impressed with his progress.
After his spell at Carrington he will return to Doncaster Rovers to prepare for their FA Cup first round tie against King’s Lynn on Saturday.
