Aston Villa are not keen on losing Morgan Rogers amid growing interest in the 22-year-old Englishman from Premier League rivals.
According to TBR, Aston Villa are not considering the prospect of losing Morgan Rogers, and have placed a massive price tag to ward off suitors. Arsenal are among those keen on the 22-year-old Englishman, as they may have to dig their heels to get a deal in place if they wish to advance.

Morgan Rogers has had a tremendous season with Aston Villa despite the team’s eventual failure to qualify for the Champions League. He was instrumental for Unai Emery’s side, which went to the Champions League quarterfinals while challenging fo a top-five finish until the final day of the campaign.

He signed a new long-term deal until 2030 last November, which does give Aston Villa the power to consider or reject approaches for the 22-year-old Englishman. However, many reports are stating financial uncertainties behind the scenes, as the club may be forced to sell one of their top assets to comply with PSR obligations.

Rogers is certainly a hot prospect in the market after a season in which he had 14 goals and 15 assists across all competitions in 54 appearances. Hence, the likes of Chelsea were keen on signing him, as his positional versatility in the attacking third does make him a formidable target.

Arsenal were interested recently, as Mikel Arteta likes a player of his qualities, as the 22-year-old Englishman can take up some key attacking positions in his system. However, there are obvious challenges in prising a top player away from a team who are keen to challenge for the Champions League positions next season, as someone like Rogers will carry a hefty price tag.

Aston Villa slap £100 million-plus price tag on Morgan Rogers
Aston Villa are eager to keep hold of Rogers are likely to rebuff any approaches that come their way for the 22-year-old Englishman. To make matters worse for the likes of Arsenal, the Birmingham-based club have reportedly placed a price tag of more than £100 million on the attacker, which would make him unreachable.

Despite Rogers being tied to the club for the long-term future, he might still have some power in changing the direction of his travel. Should he be tempted by the prospect of continuing in the Champions League, he might consider offers should they come in from the likes of Arsenal, as there’s still a possibility for this transfer saga to have some legs.
