Arsenal’s hopes of landing Rodrygo have received a timely boost, with reports from Spain indicating that Real Madrid are now willing to offload the Brazilian forward this summer.

According to Cadena SER, Rodrygo is no longer seen as untouchable by the club’s hierarchy, with manager Xabi Alonso not considering him a key figure heading into the new season.

Real Madrid are believed to be ready to cash in on the 24-year-old, and Premier League interest has reignited, with Arsenal among the clubs continuing to monitor his situation.

The Gunners have maintained a long-standing admiration for Rodrygo and are now said to be studying the possibility of reactivating talks after learning of Madrid’s shifting stance.

The Brazilian, who prefers to operate from the left flank, has found minutes harder to come by due to the continued rise of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.

His reduced role became increasingly evident under Alonso, with Rodrygo starting just one match at the Club World Cup and making cameo appearances in the closing stages of others.

His limited starts this season further underlined his fading status in the squad.

Despite a return of 25 goal contributions last season, Rodrygo has struggled for consistent involvement, and those around him are now said to be encouraging a move away from Madrid.

Arsenal, who have already strengthened with the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, are expected to turn their attention to the attacking department in the coming weeks.

The Gunners are also pursuing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, but progress has stalled over the fee structure.

Madrid’s valuation of Rodrygo is believed to be around £86 million, though reports suggest they could accept a slightly lower bid depending on the terms and add-ons.

The Brazilian remains under contract at the Bernabeu, but he is understood to be open to a Premier League move and considers Arsenal a priority destination.

A final decision could follow further talks between the player and the club in the coming days, with Madrid now quietly inviting offers.

Arsenal are expected to keep close tabs on developments as they weigh up a potential move later this summer.
