In a recent post on X, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Arsenal are showing interest in Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet this summer. It has been revealed that the Gunners are keeping tabs on the French centre-back ahead of a potential move for him in the future.
Jacquet’s Impressive Run Of Form In French Football
Jacquet managed to impress at times with his performances at the heart of Rennes’ backline in the previous campaign. The 20-year-old registered one assist in 12 senior matches for the French club thus far across all fronts.
The French defensive ace gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field as he made 26 tackles, 9 blocks and 27 interceptions in Ligue 1 football. His current contract at Rennes will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to get a deal done for him on the cheap this off-season.
